About Miles Schwartz
Miles Schwartz is the founder of Bare Brew™, a cold brew coffee company built on one principle: what you put in your body should be transparent. Bare Brew's cold brew contains two ingredients — Honduran Arabica coffee and filtered water — with 320mg of clean caffeine, zero sugar, and 20 calories per 12oz can.
Why I Write About Caffeine Science
Most caffeine content online is either marketing copy or oversimplified advice. I started the Science blog to bridge the gap between peer-reviewed research and what consumers actually need to know. Every study I reference is named in the text — authors, journal, and year — so you can look it up yourself rather than take my word for it. If a claim on this site isn't backed by something you can go read, I want to know: miles@drinkbarebrew.com.
Research Focus Areas
My writing covers caffeine pharmacology (adenosine receptor mechanisms, CYP1A2 metabolism), dose-response science (FDA thresholds, ISSN performance data), coffee and gut health (microbiome studies from Nature Communications and Nature Microbiology), and ingredient transparency in the energy drink market. This writing is general science reporting, not medical advice, and nothing here is intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any condition.
